Dye by the Sword was formed in January 2015 by Alexandre Chenette, Jean-Christophe Chenette and Olivier LeBlanc-Roy. Born out of a desire to experiment with the basic rock instrumentation and based on the concept that every member plays every instrument depending on the song, Dye by the Sword has built over three albums a sound made of slowcore, goth rock and shoegaze elements, where romantic sensibilities merge with noise and distortion.

Dye by the Sword a été formé en janvier 2015 par Alexandre Chenette, Jean-Christophe Chenette and Olivier LeBlanc-Roy. Né du désir d’expérimenter avec les bases du rock et de partager la maîtrise des divers instruments entre tous les membres, Dye by the Sword s’est construit à travers trois albums un son contenant des éléments de slowcore, de goth rock et de shoegaze, où la sensibilité se mélange au bruit et à la distorsion.
